I chose this pattern as I wanted a loose jacket that would work comfortably over a warm sweater as an extra layer, and I wanted an uncomplicated pattern.
I cut the jacket outer from a pair of thrifted dark red velveteen drapes that had some fading in places. I did need to piece the sleeves but that just adds a bit of extra interest. I used a thrifted, red, finely-striped cotton sheet to cut the lining from. I finished it off with 3 black 21mm sew-on snaps.
I love the style, the directions were superb and I am planning to use this pattern again for a jacket out of houndstooth fabric.
I should also mention that Adelaide provides the best customer service!
Lovely jacket pattern, really nice shape. I used a thick sweatshirt fabric so didn’t line it and topstitched all the facings down and added a couple of pockets with flaps and also put cuffs on the sleeves. Have worn it heaps.
